Specifying LAD®
For the convenience of engineers, architects and contractors in writing LAD® specifications, Cheng Fluid Systems suggests the following :
The Large Angle Diffuser (LAD® ) is
to be located inside the concentric diffuser and protrude a
small distance inside the small diameter piping section. The
LAD® flow conditioner will produce a flat velocity
profile and an even distribution of fluid after the
diffuser. The pressure head recovery will be better than
that of diffusers with greater than 15o expansion angles.
The flow conditioner internals are to be welded to the
diffuser housing.
